As part of BP’s Conventional Gas Lift (CGL) project, SDL NOBEL successfully fabricated four pre-assembled units (PAUs) within tight project deadlines. Gas lift is a key technique for sustaining production from mature offshore wells, and the PAUs form integrated modules that can be installed quickly with minimal offshore intervention.
Project scope
Each unit was fabricated in our workshop to BP’s engineering drawings and specifications, combining structural steel, process piping, valves and supports into a single, transport-ready assembly, with dimensional control to guarantee a precise fit with the platform interfaces.
Fabrication of four pre-assembled units (PAUs) to a compressed schedule
Integration of structural steel, process piping, valves and supports
Certified welding, NDT of welded joints and dimensional control
Safe offshore transport and installation on the Chirag platform
“Working to a compressed schedule, the team completed all four units on time and to specification — with both delivery and HSE performance maintained.”
Result
The four pre-assembled units were safely transported offshore and installed on the Chirag platform, supporting the continued and reliable production of the field. A full inspection and certification dossier was prepared for each PAU in line with the ISO 9001 quality standard.
